La Madrina

Since 1856

TRUE LEGEND

Welcome to La Madrina Pisco

La Madrina Pisco is produced by Fundo Tres Generaciones, originally established in 1856, in the fertile Ica Valley in Peru. This region is ideal for growing grapes as the Ica Valley has produced piscos for hundreds of years. The Ica Valley has a dry desert climate, low relative humidity, low rainfall, plenty of sunshine, with good gradient temperatures during the day and night that produce grapes that result in outstanding Pisco.

Our Story

Juanita Martinez

Owner La Madrina Pisco

Juanita Martinez, born in 1933 in the Subtanjalla District of Ica, Peru married the love of her life Luis Gonzales as a youth. In her early years, she was not allowed to work in the distillery, but she secretly learned about making Pisco from her father in law, Don Leoncio Gonzales of the famous Tres Esquinas Pisco.

She learned the wisdom and secrets of producing quality Pisco, from the pruning of the grape vines to the fermentation to the distillation. For sixty years, she produced one of the finest Piscos made in Peru. Today, she is known as the Godmother (La Madrina) of Pisco or the Lady (La Dama) of Pisco.

  • La Madrina is able to produce consistent, high quality Piscos because its controls every phase of the process to their exacting standards.
  • La Madrina’s quality and consistency is due to the use of the highest quality grapes, as well as the high quality processes and standards that have been used in the distillery for decades.
  • La Madrina is artisanal and hand crafted with limited production, not mass produced like other Piscos. Distillation occurs only during March or April after the fall grape harvest.
